10.2 Student Safety

Protections built in for student users.

CurricuLLM includes multiple layers of protection to keep students safe. This AI for schools is designed with student safety as a fundamental priority, not an afterthought.

Age appropriate

Student accounts are for learners aged 10+, with filters in place to block harmful or distracting content.

Content filters

Admins can set strict filters (e.g. block profanity, violence, unsafe topics) to ensure the learning environment stays safe and focused. These filters help maintain a safe and appropriate learning environment for all students.

Content review for shared materials

When teachers choose to share Studio content that is marked as suitable for students, that content may be reviewed for safety, quality, and compliance. This review process includes both human review and automated checks to ensure shared materials meet appropriate standards.

Teachers are strongly encouraged to remove student names and identifying details from any content before marking it as suitable for sharing.

No direct marketing

CurricuLLM does not target students with advertising or profiling. The platform is designed purely for educational purposes, with no marketing to students.

Parental notification

A parent notification template is provided so schools can inform parents about how student data is managed, ensuring transparency with families. The template is written in simple language that students and parents can easily understand, and explains how teachers will use student data to support learning. Schools can customise the template to suit their specific needs. We minimise student data collection and work with schools to maintain appropriate parental communication.
