How to use speech-to-text and text-to-speech in CurricuLLM.

CurricuLLM has voice tools so you can listen to answers or speak your questions instead of typing.

Speech Out (AI reads to you)

  • In a chat, click the speech button on an AI message.
  • The message will be read aloud.
  • While it's playing, the icon changes to a stop button so you can pause anytime.
  • Only one message plays at a time. If you try to start another, it will wait until the first one is done.

Why this helps:

  • Good for students who learn better by listening.
  • Useful for revision, you can hear explanations or worked examples.
  • Handy in class if you want answers read aloud without copying text into another tool.

Speech In (you speak your question)

  • In the chat bar, click the microphone button.
  • Say your question (e.g. "What's 1+1?").
  • Press the stop button when finished.
  • Your words will appear as text, and CurricuLLM will answer as normal.

Notes:

  • If you press stop without saying anything, nothing is recorded.
  • You can speak for up to about 30 seconds. CurricuLLM will turn it into text and reply.

Why this helps:

  • Saves time typing, especially in class talks.
  • Great for younger students or those who find typing hard.
  • Makes it easier to use on shared devices or interactive boards.
