8.1 Activity Rhythms

Understanding when and how CurricuLLM is used.

The Activity Rhythms dashboard shows when and how much CurricuLLM is being used across your school.

You can filter results by time (last 30 days, all time, or custom range) and by role (Admins, Staff, Students). A Reset Filters option quickly takes you back to the default 30-day view.

Active Users

Shows the number of unique people using CurricuLLM during the selected time period.

  • Helps identify how widely the system is being adopted.
  • Compare staff vs. student engagement by using the role filter.
  • If you see low numbers → check that everyone has been added with the right licence and offer refresher training or demonstrations.

Active Conversations

Shows how many conversations have taken place.

  • A "conversation" means a full back-and-forth between a user and CurricuLLM, not just a single question.
  • Useful for seeing whether CurricuLLM is being used for sustained work or quick checks.
  • If you see lots of very short conversations → encourage staff and students to use CurricuLLM for step-by-step exploration, not just quick answers.

Messages

Shows the total number of individual messages exchanged.

  • Helps track overall system use.
  • High message counts combined with high conversation counts suggest active learning sessions.
  • If message counts are high but conversations are short → provide tips on asking clear, focused questions.

Peak Hour and Peak Day

Displays the times when CurricuLLM is most used.

  • Peak hour = busiest time of day.
  • Peak day = busiest day of the week.
  • Useful for planning training, support, or scheduling when access is highest.
  • If usage spikes heavily at certain times → this could indicate interesting use-cases in your school.

Platform Activity Peaks

Breaks usage down into charts by hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly views.

  • Lets administrators see whether activity is consistent or clustered.
  • Good for spotting long-term trends across terms or the whole year.
  • If activity drops suddenly → check if there are timetable changes, access issues, or if staff need renewed guidance.

Top Message Topics

Lists the most common subjects that people are asking about.

  • Helps schools see which areas of the curriculum students use CurricuLLM the most for.
  • Useful for identifying training needs if staff queries cluster around certain features.
  • If certain subjects dominate → share strategies with those subject teams, or provide additional targeted support.

Conversation Responsiveness

A bar chart showing how "responsive" conversations are (short, medium, or long exchanges).

  • Indicates whether students are just asking quick factual questions, or engaging in longer back-and-forth learning.
  • Longer conversations often suggest deeper engagement.
  • If most conversations are short → encourage teachers to model Socratic questioning in class.

Summary: Activity Rhythms helps schools understand when CurricuLLM is used, who is using it, and what topics come up most, and offers clear signals about when to support, train, or encourage different styles of use.
